This is an email-based signup sheet. Scroll down the list, check the things you want to do, ensure no time conflicts, enter your name and email at the bottom and press the button to submit your choices. The list will be updated manually on a daily basis.

Volunteer Coordinators and Leaders

Chief Volunteer Coordinators: Overall coordinators of all volunteers, get folks signed up, explain jobs, confirm attendance, work at check-in, etc.

Dockmaster Leaders: Overall coordinators of all dockmasters and chute personnel. Must be experienced in dockmastering, good communicator, detail oriented, familiar with regatta operations, calm under pressure.

Stakeboat Leaders: Overall coordinators of all stakeboatholders. Must be experienced in stakeboating, good communicator, detail oriented, familiar with regatta operations, calm under pressure.

Launch Leaders: Overall coordinators of all launches, launch drivers and course marshals. Must be experienced in handling launches, detail oriented, familiar with regatta operations, calm under pressure.

Finish Line Leaders: Overall coordinators of all finish line personnel. Must be experienced in regatta timing, detail oriented, familiar with regatta operations, calm under pressure.

Venue Leaders: Overall coordinators of all venue and administration personnel. Must be experienced in registration, setup, cleanup, parking, detail oriented, familiar with regatta operations, calm under pressure.


Friday, 5 March

Parking Control: Help guide trailers to park in the right spot, control personal parking, keep the parking area organized. Make sure there are no personal cars parked in the trailer parking area.

Venue Setup: Meet at Festival Beach to help set up signs, traffic chutes, trash cans, etc. Must be able to lift at least 30 pounds. Must have a truck or van. Must be prepared to drive back and forth from boathouse to venue.

Dock Master: Regulate traffic at the launch and recovery docks during afternoon practice. Check for safety equipment on boats. Advise crews on correct traffic pattern.

Stakeboat Holder: Hold boats backing into the stakeboat platform during afternoon practice. Advise crews on correct traffic pattern, backing into stakeboats, keeping point (practice in lanes 3 and 4 only).

Course Safety Marshal: From a coaching launch, regulate traffic in the warmup lane and on the course during afternoon practice. Advise crews on correct traffic pattern. Contact the Launch Coordinator if you need launch driving lessons. 7PM-10PM shift keeps pleasure/excursion boats (Capital Cruises, paddlewheel boats) off the race course.

Reserve Volunteers: For volunteers who are interested in general tasks as assigned. You must commit to be present throughout the duration of your allotted volunteer time slot and be available by cell phone.


Saturday, 6 March

Registration: Register Competitors, answer questions, medal pick-up.

Lightweight and Coxswain Weigh-Ins: Weigh athletes to qualify for racing lightweight or coxing under the direction of a USRowing referee.

Starter's Assistant: Assist the starting referee with operations at the start platform.

Dock Master: Regulate traffic at the ARC launch and recovery docks and the chutes during racing. Check for safety equipment on boats. Advise crews on correct traffic pattern. People on the dock MUST be skilled coxswains/bows and be able to give good, clear landing instructions. Must be detail oriented and a good communicator.

Stakeboat Holder: Hold boats backing into the stakeboat platform during racing.

Contact the Launch Coordinator if you need launch driving lessons. 5PM-7PM shift regulates the evening practice session. 7PM-10PM shift keeps pleasure/excursion boats (Capital Cruises, paddlewheel boats) off the race course.

Referee Launch Driver: Drive a coaching launch chasing races under the supervision of a referee. Contact the Launch Coordinator if you need launch driving lessons.

Finish Line Timer: From the finish line, collect times and order of finish of racing boats, operate finish horn and flag, call in results, under the supervision of a referee.

Results Assistant: Call in results from the finish line, or take results calls at the results trailer. Must be detail oriented and have a cell phone.

Sell T-shirts: Help cover regatta expenses through t-shirt sales.

Breakfast Taco Pick-up: 48 breakfast tacos will be ready at 6AM at the Taco Cabana at 211 S. Lamar, at Riverside drive. If tacos are not prepaid, you will be reimbursed.

Lunch Platter Pick-up: Lunch platters for making sandwiches will be ready at 11AM at HEB Hancock Center, 1000 E. 41st St.If the platters are not prepaid, you will be reimbursed.

Juniors Food Concession: Prepare and sell snacks to earn money for the ARC Junior team; mostly operated by junior parents.

Cleanup: Collect trash and organize the venue after Saturday races. You should have a truck that you are willing to load with trash.
